Kenya will be in a pole position to produce it's own Nuclear Power by 2034~Nuclear Power and Energy Authority CEO Hon Justus Wabuyabo has affirmed.
Speaking to Nyota TV; Hon Wabuyabo lauded the efforts Kenyan government is putting in place through scaling up of needed Technology that will effect Nuclear Power Production in the tune of 1000 mega watts to supplement most sought after Carbon emitting fuels.
Uyombo; which is a few kilometres from Watamu and Kwale are the sites located for establishment of the plant due to their immediate proximity to Indian Ocean.
According to Hon Wabuyabo, the government intends to commence construction of Nuclear Power Plant in Kenya by 2027.
Since the technology employed in production of Nuclear Power requires expertise on how to handle the machines; the Ministry has instituted a programme to train Kenyans to amass a bag of skills, Knowledge and experience so that by 2027 henceforth; human labour won't cause stress and strains.
NuPEA CEO further confirmed that Strategic Environment Assesment exercise has already been done. This will work to mitigate human beings from harzadous effect of Nuclear Energy Production activities.
If this earmarked project sails through; Kenya will join the list of other Nations that produces Nuclear Energy as it intends to work in tandem with United Nation's International Atomic Energy Agency and other Nations that are currently using the Technology in Nuclear Energy production like China, South Korea, USA and Russia.
Nuclear Power Energy is part of Clean Energy solutions to curb the teething effects of Climate Change.
It has been touted to replace the Fossil fuels that emit tonnage of carbon in the atmosphere which causes the Greenhouse Effect that leads to Global Warming.
Earlier on; Hon wabuyabo had appeared before the Energy Committee of National Assembly where he presented a Memorandum concerning Miscellaneous Amendment Bill 2023.
Nuclear Power Energy is the way to go as a Country.
