Saka and Trossard celebrate a goal in their last encounter||Bonnylad|
Arsenal hunt for Premier League Trophy since the 2003/2004 Invincibles era could well be on course after registering a stellar performance from their first eleven matches with a solitary loss at home to Newcastle United; two successive draws and eight wins.
The Gunners currently sit fourth position on the log; three points below the reigning Champions-Manchester City.
Arsenal though, has been blighted with injuries that might dent their success and mask their vision of clinching this most coveted and revered trophy.
As at now most of Arsenal's stars are sidelined with injuries.
Last Summer signing Jurrien Timber; who got injured last time out when we faced Nottingham Forest in our opening fixture of the premier league has since been demoted to the treatment room. Reports link the Dutchman to stage a comeback in early February next year.
Captain Martin Odegaard too has been relegated to the bench. The Norwegian missed two out of the club's last three matches after he had felt discomfort ahead of the Sheffield United clash on October 28.
His backtrack to the squad is still concealed though reports point at his imminent return this weekend against Burnley.
Another ace demoted to the bench is the towering Gabriel Jesus. Jesus injured his hamstring playing for Arsenal against Sevilla in the Champions League on October 24. The Brazilian has since been undergoing his rehabilitation with the Gunners, who are wary about rushing him back. Jesus has not played for Arsenal since the Sevilla game, but was named in the Brazil squad on Monday.
Emile Smith Rowe has lately been battling injuries lately .
The Hale End graduate missed out on the matchday squad for Wednesday's trip to the London Stadium, picking up a knee injury prior to the match. It remains to be seen exactly how long he will be sidelined for in what is a major blow to Mikel Arteta and Co, though the manager said it would be a case of weeks.
'The Octopus', the Ghanaian midfield maestro's career since signing for Arsenal has been more of a topsy turvy ride. Partey has endured persistent injury problems that recurs when the team needs him most and this has infuriated fans; some who are calling out the board to cash in on him and chase the signing of Real Betis Martin Zubimendi or Douglas Costa.
Since he put pen to paper, Partey has missed 25 games occasioned by hip injuries much to dismay of his ardent supporters.
Reports from Arsenal medical department confirmed that Partey is set to be out for the remainder of 2023 season as he works on rehabilitation to regain fitness.
In a turn of events, Thomas Partey has asked the board to allow him a move to Turin: to join the Old Lady-Juventus.
At 30years of age and injury ladened; it will be wise if Arsenal cashed in on him and scout for a midfielder of Declan's ilk.
Arsenal will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the EPL when they lock horns with relegation threatened Burnley.
